Harris Healthcare Adds Resource Planning to Affinity Revenue Management Solution

New Options Come with Acquisition of ORMED MIS Financial Solutions

Herndon, VA— Harris Healthcare’s Affinity Group completed acquisition of the assets of Ormed Information Systems, Inc. on September 2, 2016. For new and long-term users of Harris Healthcare’s Affinity Revenue Cycle Management, Enterprise Self-Service and Enterprise Scheduling solutions, this adds a whole new dynamic to enterprise information management: Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP).

The Harris Healthcare products will be enhanced via interfacing between our clinical, billing and financial applications. Ultimately, though, the ORMED MIS systems, now known as Affinity ERP, will be fully integrated to the Affinity product suite providing a comprehensive view of the organization, including key performance indicators relating patient care to expenses and cash flow. “More specifically,” says Chris Sherback, President & CEO of Ormed, who joins the Affinity team as Director, ERP Solutions after 25 years of guiding product strategy for Ormed, “we are focused on using our statistical general ledger to capture clinical and workload measurements and combine this with the data in our financial general ledger.” The result will be comprehensive budgeting, forecasting and reporting information with the capacity to drill-down into transactional data on the patient, the bill and the expenses.

For years, healthcare has had clinical and financial data in disparate systems, and pulling everything together into a single, informative view is latent, slow and very expensive. Kent Hargrave, Executive Vice President, Harris Healthcare Affinity Solutions, explains the impact their integrated Affinity solution will have in the industry: “We will be integrating our cost accounting system into all our financial systems to provide insight into where our clients are making money, where they are losing money, and why.” These key insights will be available in real-time to provide meaningful and justifiable data that can be used to positively influence the behavior of caregivers, patients and payers. Providing the best care at the best possible price benefits everyone.

With the integration between these two healthcare-focused entities, Harris Healthcare envisions bringing improved solutions to an expanded user base. The ERP solution comes to Affinity with a solid 25-year history, focused on expense management for hospitals. Affinity ERP has clients ranging from small critical access hospitals to 700-bed hospitals. Harris Healthcare, in turn, is a global healthcare IT provider with clinical and financial solutions in place for over 30 years. Surprisingly, there is no client overlap between the two companies, so Harris Healthcare’s Affinity solutions group will be reaching out to all clients with special offers allowing them to take advantage of this high-impact integrated solution set.
