But a Good Coach May Be Necessary to Finish and Win
I spend a considerable amount of my time traveling to and talking with our clients nationwide. In the past, I’ve told you about how impressed I have been in terms of the innovation they come up with when using QuadraMed products. But I had not placed enough emphasis on our services – and how clients benefit from them – until I read an article, mentioned with a link in this blog, by a surgeon named Atul Gawande.

During the past 18 months or so, I have talked with many hospital CIOs and HIM professionals who use our Quantim suite of products. I’ve been impressed with how so many organizations have accepted the transition to ICD-10, and how many of you have signed up for the QuadraMed ICD-10 Countdown Program and assessment services. Our HIM folks did a terrific job with the Avatar in the simulator. If you haven’t seen it in action, be sure to ask for a demonstration.
My point is that hospitals are moving right along toward meeting the transition’s October 2013 deadline. According to the surveys I’ve read, most feel they will make it. But now, CMS may move that deadline out, which has the potential to severely complicate your training and implementation cycles. There was a lot of buzz about a delay at HIMSS last week, and that is the topic of my blog.
