QuadraMed Showcases New Products And eHIM Focus At 2007 AHIMA National Convention
Reston, VA October 8, 2007 QuadraMed® Corporation (Amex: QD) today announced it will demonstrate QuadraMed eSignature, an advanced electronic signature product, the latest version of the QuadraMed Quantim® eHIM suite, and QuadraMed Smart Identity solutions for positive patient identification during exhibit hall hours, October 8-11, at the 79th Convention and Exhibit of the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) to be held at the Philadelphia Convention Center in QuadraMed booth #1014. QuadraMed Health Information Management (HIM) experts, clients and partners will also be conducting a comprehensive series of real world HIM presentations throughout the event.
QuadraMed eSignature, the newest Web-native product, is integrated with the QuadraMed Quantim eHIM solution and enables documentation authentication by clinicians anytime and anywhere. QuadraMed eSignature is a key component of an electronic health record (EHR) and complies with AHIMA e-HIM® models for a paperless HIM department. The new QuadraMed Quantim version 7.3 offers substantial enhancements including support for "Reason For Visit," secondary grouper and DRG field support, outpatient code edits for Non-OPPS and OPPS OCE, Present on Admission (POA), as well as regulatory enhancement support of the CMS MS DRG's. Quantim also now includes an export function with APR DRG specific fields being added.
In addition, QuadraMed will provide education and commentary regarding the use of computer technology to increase coding productivity, including a prototype demonstration of Quantim eHIM linked to the Artificial Medical Intelligence (AMI) EMscribe solution for Computer-Assisted Coding (CAC). Computer-Assisted Coding has the potential to increase HIM efficiency, reduce coding expenditures, decrease reimbursement processing costs (DNFB), and improve financial performance. AHIMA attendees can participate in a special CAC capabilities presentation on Monday, October 8 at 12:30 p.m. in the QuadraMed booth.
Robin Altendorf, MA, RHIA, QuadraMed Master Patient Index (MPI) Project Manager, will present, "Consolidating Master Patient Indexes within a Health System," on Tuesday, October 9, at 1:00 p.m. in room 202AB in an AHIMA educational track. Her co-presenter will be QuadraMed HIM client Jan Baucom, RHIA, Director of Medical Records at CaroMont Health/Gaston Memorial Hospital, Gastonia, North Carolina. A technical paper written by
Ms. Altendorf, "Establishment Of A Quality Program For The Master Patient Index," will be included in the 2007 AHIMA Convention Proceeding.
