IHE - Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise
As stated on the IHE
website, the “IHE is an initiative by healthcare professionals and industry to improve the way computer systems in healthcare share information. IHE promotes the coordinated use of established standards such as DICOM and HL7 to address specific clinical need in support of optimal patient care. Systems developed in accordance with IHE communicate with one another better, are easier to implement, and enable care providers to use information more effectively.”
QuadraMed is an active participant and promoter of healthcare industry standards and has been a member of the IHE since 2010, participating in both IHE Connectathons and the HIMSS Interoperability Showcase.
Connectathon: The IHE Connectathon is a cross-vendor, live, supervised, structured testing event with over 150 participating vendors and 600+ engineers and IT architects. These organizations and IT experts converge every year on-site in Chicago, IL for one full week of interoperability testing and problem resolution. Participants test their products against multiple vendors using real-world clinical scenarios contained in IHE's Integration Profiles.
HIMSS Interoperability Showcase: This showcase presented in collaboration with IHE at the annual HIMSS event is an interactive experience designed to allow conference attendees to walk through a patient’s continuum of care and to see how standards-based transactions improve the delivery of care.
The IHE Integration Statement indicates QuadraMed’s conformance with specifications in the IHE Technical Frameworks. The Integration Statement specifies the IHE capabilities in terms of the key concepts of IHE: Actors and Profiles.
