Duncan W. James
President and Chief Executive Officer
|
Duncan W. James serves as QuadraMed’s president and chief executive officer and a member of its Board of Directors. An accomplished senior executive with domestic and international experience in operations; strategic planning; sales and marketing, and product management, James has more than 25-years experience in the healthcare information and technology industries.
Prior to joining QuadraMed in July 2009, James was group president at McKesson Corporation for nine years and a member of the McKesson Operating Committee. In his most recent role as group president of the McKesson Provider Technologies Health Systems business unit, he was responsible for the strategy and day-to-day operations of McKesson’s portfolio of clinical, revenue- cycle, decision support, and enterprise imaging solutions for the hospital and health system market.
In addition to his experience at McKesson, he has held multiple executive roles in operations, product management, and marketing at HBO & Company and First Data Corporation Health Systems Group. He was also senior vice president and general manager of healthcare at Scient Corporation, formerly iXL Inc. Additionally, James has held a number of key sales and marketing positions at Digital Equipment Corporation, a leader in computer systems and services.
He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in industrial management and Master of Business Administration from Georgia Institute of Technology and University of Dallas, respectively.

David L. Piazza
Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer
|
David Piazza joined QuadraMed in 2003, and was elected Chief Financial Officer in 2005. He is responsible for all financial planning, accounting, treasury, legal, tax and investor-relations activities for the company. He has over thirty years of experience leading finance, business development, IT and operations organizations, including twenty years of experience in the telecommunications industry.
Prior to joining the team at QuadraMed, Piazza held the position of CFO at both public and private companies, including MFS Communications, Teligent International, ACSI and Gemplex.
At MFS, Piazza was a key member of the management team responsible for driving the company’s growth from infancy to its acquisition by Worldcom for $14 Billion. In addition to his operation-management responsibilities, Piazza led the financial teams responsible for the growth of QuadraMed through various acquisitions, including the Company’s acquisition of the Misys electronic health record solution suite, now known as QuadraMed Computerized-Patient Record (QCPR). During 2010, Piazza also served as QuadraMed’s interim SVP of Services and Chief Operating Officer, managing the services organizations for all of QuadraMed’s
product lines.
Piazza is a Certified Public Accountant and a graduate of the University of Illinois.

Joseph I. Bormel, MD, MPH
Chief Medical Officer and Vice President of Clinical Strategy
|
In his role as QuadraMed’s chief medical officer and vice president of clinical strategy, Dr. Bormel focuses on developing advanced clinical strategy that incorporates best-knowledge management practices with innovative technology to improve patient safety. He assumed his position with QuadraMed in August 2001 after having served as a director and chief architect for Medical Measurement and Management System Solutions at Cerner Corporation.
With 25 years experience in healthcare technology, Bormel’s achievements include significant innovations in the design and deployment of advanced ambulatory and inpatient electronic medical record systems. He is also a recognized authority on computerized physician order entry. Board certified in internal medicine, Bormel’s clinical training included both internal medicine and rheumatology. He completed a fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital in medical informatics directed by the National Institute of Health and has earned a Masters of Public Health in clinical effectiveness and health management from Harvard University.
Bormel holds advanced standing with the American College of Physician Executives and has also earned degrees in electrical engineering and computer science from The Johns Hopkins University.

Thomas J. Dunn
Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing
|
Thomas J. Dunn serves as senior vice president of sales and marketing and brings more than 25 years of enterprise healthcare technology experience to QuadraMed. Dunn’s experience includes the planning and execution of competitive business strategies, as well a consistent track record of impressive revenue growth and business expansion. He began his career at Shared Medical Systems (SMS), now part of Siemens Medical Solutions USA. During his 22 years of service at SMS and Siemens Medical, Dunn held a variety of positions with steadily increasing leadership responsibilities, including services, operations, and sales, culminating in his role as the national vice president of IT solutions.
Most recently, he served as vice president and executive team member at CareMedic Corporation, a national provider of revenue-cycle solutions for the healthcare industry. Prior to his role at CareMedic,, Dunn held the position of senior vice president at Eclipsys Corporation where he directed domestic sales and account management.
He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in economics and business administration from Ursinus College.

J. Thomas Easterly
Senior Vice President, Client Services, Support and Enterprise Product Development
|
J. Thomas Easterly serves as senior vice president of client services, support and enterprise product development. He brings to QuadraMed more than 30 years of experience in healthcare product implementation and service delivery along with a long history of success in product management and product development. Tom Easterly co-founded Infostat Incorporated, a hospital information systems company, and served as the CTO and Chief Architect. Additionally he served as Vice President of Product Engineering for Community Health Computing, Inc., the HIS company that acquired Infostat. With over 25 years of Healthcare experience in product development, services and delivery in executive leadership roles for prominent Healthcare IT companies including Cerner and Eclipsys, Tom is well positioned to drive the vision forward for QuadraMed’s services, support and enterprise product groups.
At Eclipsys Corporation, Easterly held the position of vice president of services - field operations and was responsible for project management worldwide. At Cerner Corporation, he served as vice president and managing partner, directing services sales and delivery in the Southeast. As a division president at Superior Consultant Company, he was a senior member of the corporate leadership team that grew the firm to more than 1,500 consultants. Easterly was also a founder of hospital information systems supplier, Infostat Incorporated, and served as its executive vice president. He began his career in healthcare at HBO & Company.

Jim W. Jacobs Jr.
Senior Vice President, Health Information Management
|
Jim W. Jacobs Jr. lead’s QuadraMed’s product strategy and product marketing activities as senior vice president of product management and Health Information Management (HIM) solutions. He works with the company’s product management teams on product roadmaps and is responsible for how QuadraMed packages, prices, and builds programs into market segments and for identifying new opportunities in the marketplace. Additionally, Jacobs serves as leader and general manager of the organization’s HIM products.
Jacobs has more than 16 years of experience in building healthcare companies. Prior to joining QuadraMed, he served in executive leadership roles at ActaView Corporation, CareMedic Corporation, and Ingenix Corporation. As the president and CEO of ActaView Corporation, Jacobs helped transform the company into a growing and profitable organization. As a member of the executive team at CareMedic, he developed product and sales strategies and, as a result of his strategic vision, moved CareMedic from a “point” solution sales organization into a consultative, enterprise sales organization. He comes to QuadraMed from his most recent role as vice president of client services for the hospital business segment of Ingenix.
Jacobs holds a Master of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Business Administration in decision sciences from Georgia State University.

Brook Carlon
Senior Vice President, Human Resources
|
Brook Carlon was named Senior Vice President, Human Resources in May of 2007. As a member of the QuadraMed senior management team, she provides overall strategic and operational leadership for the Company in the areas of HR and administrative services to ensure alignment with corporate goals and values. During her tenure at QuadraMed she has significantly improved efficiencies and internal support while reducing expenditures through operational improvements.
Ms. Carlon has more than 20 years of human resources management experience, with expertise in such areas as international compensation process design; policy development; mergers and acquisitions, as well as cross-cultural initiatives and practices between domestic and international employee/management populations. She has significant experience leading HR functions during times of growth, and an extensive knowledge of state, federal and international employment law. Ms. Carlon’s international experience includes leading teams in Japan, India, the UK, the Philippines and Australia.
Most of Ms. Carlon's career has been spent in the high-tech industry, to include serving as Vice President of Human Resources for M. Transaction Services, a national healthcare electronic data interchange service provider and subsidiary of the former Misys PLC. Prior to moving into high-tech organizations, she spent time working in the healthcare industry in both home health and hospital settings.
Ms. Carlon holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Brigham Young University and earned her MBA from Regis University. She was awarded a Certificate in Human Resources Management from California State University, Hayward, and holds the Senior Professional in Human Resources designation. Ms. Carlon is an active member of the Society of Human Resources Management.

Michael Myers
Senior Vice President, Enterprise Product Strategy
|
Michael Myers serves as QuadraMed’s senior vice president, enterprise product strategy and directs product management for the company’s clinical, identity management and revenue cycle management offerings. A healthcare veteran with more than 30 years of industry experience, Myers has led product management, sales, services, support and development initiatives in both emerging companies and large corporations. He brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise in operational execution, growth strategies and product development to QuadraMed.
Most recently, Myers held numerous executive-level positions at McKesson Corporation, including roles as general manager, life sciences and senior vice president, product management. Prior to that, he served as senior vice president, operations at Access Health, a telecommunications-based triage and disease management business, which was later acquired by McKesson. Additionally, Myers served in several executive roles at CliniCom, a provider of clinical point-of-care solutions, where he was responsible for leading the company from venture backing to an IPO before it was acquired by HBOC, now a part of McKesson.
Myers earned an MBA from the Thunderbird School of Global Management and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in political science from the University of Colorado at Boulder.

Jim Dowling
Vice President and General Manager, Patient Self Service
|
In this role as vice president and general manager for our Patient Self Service group, Jim Dowling focuses on strategies and solutions to help healthcare providers improve patient satisfaction and maximize revenue collection throughout the continuum of care. Dowling assumed his position following QuadraMed’s acquisition of NCR Healthcare in January 2012 and brings more than 25 years of experience in healthcare technology sales, marketing and management to his role.
During his tenure at NCR Healthcare, Dowling served as general manager and vice president of sales, where he handled operations for the company’s entire product suite, including self-service kiosks, patient portals and mobile applications. Prior to joining NCR, Dowling led the sales organization for GE’s imaging solutions and also held several management-level positions.
Dowling holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing from New York Institute of Technology.
